An inspiring secondary school for the 21st century.
The architects, BDP, put everything in one structure: a whole student town under a single roof with the longest spanning Kerto grid shell in the UK, in a landscaped arena that draws the local public in to share the facilities. The architects also handled every part of the project, from landscape design to interior fittings; working closely with the three teaching faculties to create ideal spaces for each subject.
The building was given a heart by connecting these spaces with a central theatre for the whole school to gather, perform and showcase its achievements.
