Office building for the Behörde für Stadtentwicklung und Wohnen, Wilhelmsburg, Hamburg.  This building is the flagship of Hamburg's International Building Exhibition (IBA) 2013. In order to reduce energy consumption the building uses enhanced thermal insulation, and appropriate level of facade transparency, compact building volume and natural cross ventilation. All heating and cooling is achieved via geothermal energy, electricity is produced by a local gas powered combined heat and power unit supplying the district.  The building runs on less than 70kWh/sqm/year.
